报告内容:
Wireless technologies have achieved great success in data communication. In recent years, wireless signals are exploited for sensing, enabling exciting applications such as passive localization, contact-free gesture recognition, vital sign monitoring and even fine-grained material identification. Although promising progress has been achieved, the potential benefits of wireless sensing are still limited by several fundamental issues including unstable performance and small sensing range. In this talk, I introduce our recent research effort (i) on the theory side to model the process of wireless sensing to help people understand the underlying mechanisms behind the fundamental issues and propose novel solutions to address them, (ii) on the application side to enable promising new applications with wireless sensing and (iii) on the platform side to involve new sensing modalities into the ecosystem of wireless sensing.
